Step-by-Step Installation
1. Unpack and Inspect
Carefully unpack the awning and check all parts against the provided parts list. Ensure there are no missing or damaged components.
2. Choose the Installation Location
Select a suitable location for your awning. Ensure the area is structurally sound and can support the weight of the awning. Consider the angle of the sun and the intended use of the shaded area.
3. Mark the Mounting Points
Use a measuring tape to mark the positions of the mounting brackets on the wall. Ensure the marks are level and spaced according to the specifications in the instruction manual.
4. Drilling holes
Using a drill, create holes at the marked points. If mounting on a brick or concrete wall, use appropriate masonry drill bits and anchors. For wooden walls, use a stud finder to locate studs and drill into them for secure mounting.
5. Attach the Mounting Brackets
Secure the mounting brackets to the wall using the appropriate screws and bolts. Use a spirit level to ensure the brackets are perfectly horizontal.
6. Assemble the Awning
Follow the assembly instructions in the manual to put together the main awning structure. Ensure all bolts and screws are tightened securely.
7. Mount the Awning
Carefully lift the assembled awning and attach it to the mounting brackets. This step will require at least two people. Secure the awning to the brackets with the provided hardware.
8. Test the Awning
Extend and retract the awning several times to ensure it operates smoothly. Check that the awning is level and adjust if necessary.
Maintenance Tips
- Regularly inspect the awning for any signs of wear or damage.
- Clean the awning fabric with mild soap and water. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
- Lubricate moving parts annually to ensure smooth operation.
